How to build a web site: Part 2

You have two options: you can choose an online builder provided by your webhosting company or a stand alone web building software (the best is Dreamweaver ). If your knowledge of HTML is weak you should go for an online builder.

If you know how to use a text editor than you can use an online builder. If you encounter any problems there is usually an extensive step by step support covering everything you need. No matter which tool you will use here are some very important things:

Every web site consists of content and design.

5 steps to good content:
1. Make logical sections of your page.
2. Each section should have a separate page.
3. Break long text into smaller blocks.
4. Keep it simple and readable.
5. Write it in your text editor (it will check your grammar and spelling) and then insert it into your page.

5 steps to good design:
1. Draw a structure where should be elements of your web page placed. Most common is with navigation on left side and text in the middle.
2. Make a clean and easy to use navigation. You don`t want your visitors to get lost.
3. Use standard fonts like Arial, Times new Roman and Verdana.
4. Limit your color pallete to 2 or 3 colors. It will contribute to the clarity of your web page.
5. Optimize your graphics for fast loading. No one waits for slow pages to load, they simply click away.

If you want to learn how to publish your website check for part 3 on ezinearticles.com or our website.
