Making Good Decisions

Author: Pastor James Laws
Do you ever feel like every decision you make is wrong. You want to do the right thing but no matter how hard you try you end up doing the wrong thing. It's like, If given the option of two answers with only one answer being correct you would have a 99.8% chance of getting it wrong. It almost seems rigged.

Many of us feel like that quite often. Not just because we actually did choose the wrong answer but even when we've made a good choice, it still feels wrong. And the truth is...it is rigged. It's all distorted and blurred by...us. We feel bad about the bad decisions we make because they're bad. We feel bad about the good decisions we make because they are to few and far between. It seems like a no-win situation.

The problem is we seem to focusing on the choices we have set before us and not on God who gave us those choices. It's not unlike driving a car. You would never worry about every right and left turn you take without considering the destination. Where you are going and how fast you want to get there makes every turn a simple choice the closer you get. Consider the words of Isaiah as you look at the road you are on and where you would like to go.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3 ESV
