Well, well, poor Mel Gibson. Went out to have a few drinks and winds up with his pretty face all over the news. Seems he made an a... of himself. Most of us have been there, and I can't condemn him for that. What does bother me is how he comes out afterwards pleading and begging for forgiveness about remarks he made while he was 'drunk'. Well, you know what they say, a person always speaks the truth when they're drinking, it's the original truth serum.
While his remarks no doubt bother a lot of people, what bothers me is how he's acting like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Instead of being a man and admitting that yea, maybe my beliefs offend a lot of people, and I shouldn't have expressed them in the manner that I did, but instead he tries to convince everyone that the things he said and did ARE NOT the real Mel Gibson and ARE NOT what he's about and what he believes. I mean c'mon Mel you made almost a billion dollars with the 'Passion of Christ' why are quivering with fear and panic about what others think about you?
Well, I guess Mel Gibson is just another million dollar superstar celebrity that underneath it all is just human and has his beliefs and prejudices like the rest of us. We tend to get caught up in the celebrity thing because of the fame and riches and the life that they lead that we can only imagine. But for those in the public spotlight, when you light your candle on top of a mountain, be careful what you say or do. You would think that Mel Gibson would know that by now.
I mean would William Wallace act this way? |
