Author: Leroy Fong

Sky Moon Tourbillon is a manual winding mechanical using the Patek Philippe 109 caliber which is of RTO 27 QR SID LU CL. This piece is decorated with Cotes de Geneve and beveled, along with being hallmarked with the Geneva Seal.

The chronometer comes COSC certified. The functions include hours, minutes, perpetual calendar, minute repeater, sidereal hour, sky map and lunation. The perpetual calendar displays date, day, month, year and moonphase.

The three-piece 18k yellow-gold case comes with a diameter of 43mm and a thickness of 16.2mm. It has double curved sapphire crystal with a gold crown.

For the crown, positioned at 2 for the sky map and sidereal hour, at 4 for the movement, it has 4 correctors and repeater slide on the middle decorated with engraved Calatrava crosses.

The gold silvered dial comes with applied gold Roman numerals with printed railway track. This comes with gold Poire hands. The rear of the dial comes in blue sapphire crystal with white enameled Poire skeleton hands. The crocodile leather strap comes accompanied with gold clasp.

The indications on Sky Moon Tourbillon include a month at 3 with moonphase at 6 and day at 9. The four-year cycle sits at 12 and it has retrograde center hand. Sidereal hour, lunation and visible sky part makes up the other indications and should be considered the real essence of this wonderful watch. A sidereal hour is the time referred to the passage of the same meridian with respect to a certain star (not to the sun). Lunation is shown by the oval shaped sky vault visible on the dial and it has a period of 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 2.82 seconds.
